More specifically, Maureen discussed the reasons why women are less prepared for retirement which include earning less than men and they may stay home and care for children and/or aging parents. Maureen also discussed the ways in which women can better prepare for their retirement. These include education, meeting with a financial planner, have a plan of action, and don’t panic. A good rule of thumb is to aim to save at least 15% of one’s salary for retirement.
